Date yeast water bread…

Following on from my previous post about making bread from fruit yeast water, this was the outcome from the yeast water that I cultivated from a handful of dates.

The dough was lovely, the rise was good, and the actual bread was very very tasty! It was wonderfully chewy and very holey…

…I will definitely be soaking some more dates very soon!

Let me also draw your attention to my new Appalachian Bow Saw bread knife…

This artisan handmade beauty is THE best bread knife I have EVER used! Plus it’s beautiful! This was handmade in the U.K. by a gentleman who calls himself ‘thegarlictun’ on Instagram and Facebook. Perfect for any bread lover – I love mine πŸ™‚

Thank you 😊😊😊 I must admit, I actually tried some of this loaf for a change and it really was lovely. Ben commented on how nice it was too, and he eats my sourdough every day, as you know!

The yeast water has been really interesting to cultivate and use, I think you might enjoy it?
And the knife is FAB! I saw the guy making them on Countryfile and tracked him down – like lots of other people did by the sounds of it! He’s based in Suffolk and uses a variety of woods x

WOW! Now I don’t even know which one to go for… apples? dates? apples plus dates? πŸ˜‰

I am smiling here imagining your kitchen with six different sourdough starters…. how cool is that?
